Multraship is pleased to announce it has been named Tug Owner of the Year 2026 at the most recent International Tug & Salvage (ITS) Awards.

The award, which was presented during the gala dinner at the 2026 International Tug & Salvage Convention Exhibition & Awards in Gothenburg, Sweden, recognised Multraship’s strong performance over the past 12 months across safety, operations, technical excellence, crewing and training, environmental practices and complex project delivery.

Over the past year, Multraship has continued to demonstrate its expertise, dedication and teamwork every single day in a demanding and challenging industry. From reliability in both routine and crisis situations to leading in complex high-profile towage and salvage projects, Multraship has ensured it remains the industry standard of what a Tug Owner of the Year represents.

This includes strong and effective collaboration with authorities, partners and clients, as well as continuously investing in our modern fleet of tugs, self-propelled floating sheerlegs, diving support vessels and more. Above all else, Multraship has continued to build and empower a passionate and dedicated team of skilled tug and salvage masters, onshore experts and industry leaders, all of whom bring technical knowledge, practical experience and real-world problem solving to all of our operations.

The recognition also highlighted Multraship’s crucial role in major infrastructure projects including the Princess Elisabeth Energy Island development in the North Sea, the Fehmarnbelt tunnel connection between Denmark and Germany and Belgium’s Oosterweel Link project. These highly complex project towage operations required not only specialist vessels and experienced crews, but detailed planning and coordination and high level technical expertise throughout every phase.

It also acknowledged Multraship’s continued investment in fleet modernisation and future-ready maritime operations, which last year included our four new vessels equipped with advanced firefighting systems and enhanced operational flexibility. The award also highlighted Multraship’s continued focus on reducing the environmental impact of our fleet, including increased use of HVO fuels, fuel efficiency monitoring systems and the introduction of IMO Tier III-compliant tugs.

Accepting the award, Managing Director Leendert Muller noted that the award showcased the professionalism, expertise and dedication of the entire Multraship family:

“This award is a reflection of every single person at Multraship. It reinforces the commitment of our crews, shore teams and partners who continue to deliver to the highest standards every day. Whether supporting complex infrastructure developments, harbour towage operations or emergency response efforts, teamwork and reliability remain at the heart of everything we do. That is why Multraship makes a difference.”

Multraship would like to extend its thanks and gratitude to the team at ITS for hosting another wonderful event that brought together the global towage and salvage community in Sweden. We’d also like to congratulate all of our fellow nominees for the Tug Owner of the Year 2026 award, as well as to everyone who took the time to vote for Multraship over the past few weeks.
